Hazy Curtain
Surreal is a word I can only use when i see something on this beautiful planet that leaves me awestruck. The giant sand dunes in the Great Namib Desert are truly surreal. These are in an area called Sosussvlei. In the late afternoon light these sand dunes glow with shades of orange-red because of the high iron oxide content. This "hazy curtain" struck me as being unique because there was a translucent layer of sand over the lower section of this dune that did not glow the same orange as the sand below and above.
